James 2:15 - If a brother or sister is without [adequate] clothing and lacks [enough] food for each day,
James 2:16 - and one of you says to them, “Go in peace [with my blessing], [keep] warm and feed yourselves,” but he does not give them the necessities for the body, what good does that do?
James 2:17 - So too, faith, if it does not have works [to back it up], is by itself dead [inoperative and ineffective].
James 2:18 - But someone may say, “You [claim to] have faith and I have [good] works; show me your [alleged] faith without the works [if you can], and I will show you my faith by my works [that is, by what I do].”
James 2:19 - You believe that God is one; you do well [to believe that]. The demons also believe [that], and shudder and bristle [in awe-filled terror—they have seen His wrath]!
James 2:20 - But are you willing to recognize, you foolish [spiritually shallow] person, that faith without [good] works is useless?
Matthew 12:50 - For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven [by believing in Me, and following Me] is My brother and sister and mother.”
Luke 11:28 - But He said, “On the contrary, blessed (happy, favored by God) are those who hear the word of God and continually observe it.”
James 4:17 - So any person who knows what is right to do but does not do it, to him it is sin.
Luke 6:46 - “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not practice what I tell you?
Luke 6:47 - Everyone who comes to Me and listens to My words and obeys them, I will show you whom he is like:
Luke 6:48 - he is like a [far-sighted, practical, and sensible] man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and yet could not shake it, because it had been securely built and founded on the rock.
John 13:17 - If you know these things, you are blessed [happy and favored by God] if you put them into practice [and faithfully do them].
Romans 2:13 - For it is not those who merely hear the Law [as it is read aloud] who are just or righteous before God, but it is those who [actually] obey the Law who will be justified [pronounced free of the guilt of sin and declared acceptable to Him].
